This policy applies to both show tickets and class enrollments purchased from Secret Improv Society. Where the rules differ, each product type has its own section below.
By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms. The detailed sale rules for each product are in our Terms of Sale.
All approved refunds are issued by reversing the original Stripe charge on your credit or debit card. Refunds are not paid as account credits, gift cards, or future-program rollovers. Stripe typically takes 5 to 10 business days to post the refund to your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer; we cannot expedite that timeline.
If you can't make the show you bought a ticket for, email tickets@secretimprov.com with your confirmation code at least 24 hours before showtime. We will move your ticket to another date with availability at no charge. Date changes are subject to seat availability and are not guaranteed for sold-out shows.
If we receive your request less than 24 hours before showtime, we will try to accommodate, but we cannot promise.
Group bookings (16 or more) follow this policy, except that cancellations within seven days of the booked date are non-refundable due to the seats held.
Email tickets@secretimprov.com from the email address used to make the purchase. Include:
We aim to respond within three business days. If you do not hear back within five business days, call (415) 596-6661 and leave a message; we'll follow up.
If you initiate a chargeback with your card issuer before contacting us, we will not be able to issue a separate refund — the dispute process supersedes our refund process. It is handled by Stripe and your bank. We strongly prefer that you contact us first; we are responsive, and a direct refund is faster and friendlier for everyone.
Gift cards are non-refundable but never expire and can be used on any future show or class purchase.

These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of (1) tickets to Secret Improv Society performances and (2) enrollments in Secret Improv Society classes, through our website and at our box office. By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.
Tickets and class enrollments are sold by Secret Improv Society, doing business as Badjojo Productions, and operating out of the Shelton Theater in San Francisco, California. Contact: tickets@secretimprov.com, (415) 596-6661.
We sell two distinct categories of product through the same checkout:
Sections of these terms apply differently to each. Anything not explicitly limited to one applies to both.
All prices are listed in US dollars. The price shown at checkout is the total you will be charged, including any applicable fees and taxes. We accept all major credit and debit cards through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card number; Stripe handles all card data.
Online prices may differ from box office prices. Early Bird Registration pricing may be offered on class enrollments from time to time; once you accept an Early Bird price, the full payment is non-transferable to a different program (see "Class withdrawals" below).
After a successful purchase, you will receive a confirmation page on the website with a confirmation code, as well as a confirmation email at the address you provided. Save the confirmation code — it is the fastest way for us to look up your order.
The box office and bar open approximately one hour before showtime. All ticket holders must check in at the box office no later than five minutes before showtime. Ticket holders who arrive late may be moved to standing room, seated at the discretion of the door, or rescheduled to a different show. We cannot guarantee specific seats; seating is general admission unless otherwise specified.
When a show sells out online, we generally do not have additional tickets available at the door.
Performances are improvised and may contain adult language, situations, or themes. Parents and guardians should use discretion. Management reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any guest whose conduct disrupts the performance or endangers others, including due to intoxication or harassment.
Audio and video recording during a performance is not permitted without prior written consent from the Secret Improv Society. We may photograph or record audiences for promotional use; by attending, you consent to such recording.
Cast lists are advertised in good faith but are not guaranteed. Any specific performer named in marketing materials may be replaced without notice due to illness, scheduling, or other circumstances. A change in cast does not, in itself, qualify a ticket for a refund.
Discounts are available for groups of 16 or more, subject to availability. Group bookings within seven days of the performance are non-refundable due to the seats held. Email tickets@secretimprov.com to inquire about a group rate.
A class enrollment reserves your seat in a specific cohort of a specific program (for example, the Foundations program starting on a specific date). The price covers every scheduled session in that program or session.
Class capacity is limited, so each student gets meaningful coach attention. We expect you to attend every session in the program you enrolled in. Missed sessions are not refunded, prorated, credited, or made up. This is true regardless of the reason for the absence, including illness, travel, or schedule conflicts.
If you know in advance that you will miss a session, email the program coach as a courtesy so they can plan exercises and partner pairings accordingly.
Once a program has begun — defined as the start of the first scheduled session — class enrollments are non-refundable. This applies even if you attend only the first session or none of the sessions in the program.
The cutoff is firm and is enforced strictly for two reasons: class size is capped, and your seat displaces another student who is now unable to join; and coaches and curriculum are scheduled around confirmed enrollments.
If you need to withdraw before the program's first session, email tickets@secretimprov.com as soon as you know. We will refund the full enrollment price to your original payment method.
If we cancel a program for any reason — insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, venue closure, an act of God — every enrolled student will be refunded in full to their original payment method.
The instructor named on a program's listing may change without notice due to illness, scheduling, or other circumstances. A change in instructor does not, in and of itself, qualify an enrollment for a refund.
Session dates within a program may shift slightly to accommodate venue or instructor scheduling. Significant schedule changes — for example, a change of day of the week — will be communicated to all enrolled students; if the new schedule does not work for you, we will offer a credit toward a future program.
Class programs are sequenced (Foundations → Characters → Narrative → Advanced Skills). Enrollment in an advanced program assumes successful completion of the prerequisites. We reserve the right to recommend reassignment to a different level if a student's skills are not yet aligned with the program they enrolled in. In that case, we will work with you to find an appropriate placement, and any tuition difference will be refunded to your original payment method (or, if the new placement costs more, collected from it).
Class participants are expected to engage respectfully with coaches and fellow students. We reserve the right to remove a participant without refund for behavior that disrupts the learning environment, including harassment, harm, or repeated disregard for the coach's instructions.
Refund eligibility and the process for requesting one are described in our Refund Policy. All approved refunds are processed through Stripe and returned to the original payment method.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the total liability of Secret Improv Society and badjojo productions arising out of the sale, purchase, or use of any ticket or class enrollment is limited to the price paid for that ticket or enrollment. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages, including, without limitation, lost wages, travel expenses, accommodations, or any other costs associated with attending or attempting to attend a performance or class.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct contact will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in effect at the time of your purchase apply to that purchase.
